Published in The Daily News on 4/20/2007. Jacqueline C. "Jackie" Marsyla 1938 - 2007 Jacqueline "Jackie" Carrol Marsyla passed away in Longview at Community Home Health and Hospice on April 14, 2007. She was 68 years old. She was born in Longview on August 12, 1938 to Donald E. and Anna (Wick) Wilkins. Jackie was a longtime local resident. She graduated from Castle Rock High School in 1956 and soon after married her high school sweetheart Dick Marsyla on August 24, 1956. She and Dick, with their children, lived and traveled extensively during his time in the military and retirement. They eventually moved to Puget Island where she owned and operated the Island Market from 1984-1993. The store brought her great pleasure. She had a wonderful zest for life and people and was well loved by friends and family. Her visits and laughter were two gifts that will be treasured by all who knew her. Jackie anxiously awaited the arrival of her granddaughter, Emilee, from China this fall. She found the most joy in her grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Richard "Rich" Marsyla, his wife Jill and their children, Nicole, Madison and Merrick of Bellingham, WA; her daughter, Lisa Marsyla of Puget Island, WA; sisters, Ruth Walden of Belfair, WA, Barbara Whittle of Castle Rock, WA, Clarabelle Titus of Apache Junction, AZ, and Patricia Meyers of Toutle Lake, WA; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, Dick in 2000; her brother, Donald E. Wilkins, Jr.; and her sisters, Elfie Mae Wilkins and Anna Lou Sadler. A memorial service and potluck is pending and will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Jacqueline Marsyla to Community Home Health & Hospice, P.O.
