Wahkiakum Eagle-November 1985 Sophie Magnuson Age 70, lifelong Washington resident, of Rosburg, died at home. She was born at Grays River. She was a homemaker and a member of the Grays River Methodist Church. She and her husband, Gilbert Magnuson, were married at Cathlamet, July 14, 1934. Surviving are two daughters, Clara Berkshire of Grays River and Geri Olmstead of Rosburg; two sons, Lonnie Magnuson of Goldendale and Gary Magnuson of Rosburg; four sisters, Helen King of Grays River, Stella Hamrick of Cathlamet, Mary Daff of Vernonia and Agnes Simpson of Seattle; two brothers, Lester Cook and Joe Cook, both of Skamokawa; 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and a dear friend, Johnny Boswell. Memorial services were Monday at Grays River Methodist Church, with Rev. John Indermark officiating. Penttila's Chapel by the Sea was in charge.
