Wahkiakum Eagle-August 1995 MAGNUSON, Arthur Edward Age 75, a resident of Rosburg, died in Longview. He was born in Astoria, the son of Eric and Ida (Peterson) Magnuson. His father was a logger and Art received his schooling in Grays River. September 13, 1941, Art married Leone Kimball and they resided in Deep River. He drove truck at the Deep River Camp and later for Tetz Transport of Chinook. Working as a log truck driver, he lived in Molalla, Lebanon and Disston, Ore. before moving to Cottage Grove, Ore. where he resided from 1954 until 1984 when he retired and moved back to the Rosburg area. He enjoyed fishing, was an avid reader who kept abreast of current events, and took pride in his lawn and trees. He also enjoyed woodworking, making many craft items for his wife. His family will remember him as a kind and devoted husband, father and grandfather who always had time for children. Besides his wife of 54 years, he is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Wolgamat of Eagle River, Alaska; a son, Clifton Magnuson of Astoria; a brother, Howard Magnuson of Naselle; a sister, Edith Dunham of Grays River; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Harold, Gilbert, Delmar and Robert. Graveside services were Monday at the cemetery with Pastor Ken Hammer officiating.
