Wahkiakum Co. Eagle-May 1996 Howard Leon Madden Age 59, died at a Lewiston, Idaho hospital. He was born in Seattle to Howard and Mary Ann Madden, who preceded him in death. He lived in Southern California before moving to Skamokawa in 1951. He graduated from Wahkiakum High School and attended Lower Columbia College and Western Washington University. He served in the US Paratroopers and continued to skydive throughout the country to help celebrate numerous events including Longview's 50th Anniversary, County Fairs, Class Reunions, Christmas and other holidays. He was a popular employee of KLEQ/CBS TV in Lewiston. Survivors include a daughter Dena Lynn Madden of Richland; a son James Michael Madden of Lewiston; a granddaughter Darian Holcomb of Richland; a brother, Pat Madden of Longview; four sisters, Cathy Harper of Camas, Betty Johnson of Longview, Peggy Alston of Orange, Calif. and Penny Weathers of Central Point, Ore.; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.
