Wahkiakum Eagle-December 2001 MADDEN, Georgette Marie Louise Angele (Truchet) Age 79, died at a Portland, Ore. hospital. She was born at Valence, France, the daughter of Charles and Claudia (Girard) Truchet. She graduated from the University of Lyon in France with a degree in Pharmacy. She left her war-torn birth country behind in 1947 when she came to the United States to marry Harold Madden. They were wed on December 24, 1947 in Portland. She and Harold owned and operated the Union Oil Station (later Enco-Exxon) in Skamokawa for over 25 years, from the early 1950's to the late 1970's. She then took over the oil distributorship until her retirement in 1979. She liked to paint with oils and watercolors and she enjoyed camping, walking, the outdoors, travel and collecting rocks. She much enjoyed visiting Vista Park in Skamokawa. Survivors include a son, Douglas of Portland; a daughter, Truchet Miller of Oxnard, Calif.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1963, a son, Marc Joel in 1969 and a companion Ray Kangas last July. Funeral services were held Friday from the Dowling Chapel in Cathlamet.
