Funeral Services

   George Beaton MacDonald of Skamokawa died September 12 at the 
Columbia View Nursing Home.   He was 87 years old, born January 12, 
1874, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
   His father, John B. MacDonald, homesteaded in the middle valley in 
1877.   George was the eldest of seven sons, two of whom survive, Lewis 
J. of Seattle and Charles P. of Sitka, Alaska.
   Mr. MacDonald logged and farmed in the west valley until his 
retirement several years ago.   Graveside services will be held 
Thursday at 11 a.m. at Fern Hill Cemetery under the direction of the 
Dowling Funeral Home.
