The Longview Daily News-January 1969 Longview, Cowlitz County, Washington LUND – Mary Agnes, 83, of 381 South Edgewood, Seaside, Ore., died Jan. 19 at home. Born Feb. 15, 1885 in North Dakota, she was a member of the Skamokawa Methodist Church, Degree of Pocahontas of the Walulla Council of Cathlamet, Priscilla Club and Skamokawa Ladies’ Aid. She had lived in the Cathlamet area approximately 60 years. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Ford (Leona) Quarles of Seaside, Ore., one son, William C. Lund of Castro Valley, Calif., one sister, Mrs. Vella Iverson, Cathlamet, five grandchildren, and seven great- grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Skamokawa Methodist Church with the Rev. Alex Poobus officiating. Internment will be in the Fern Hill Cemetery. Penttila’s Chapel by the Sea is in charge of services. (Mary’s sister was Bella or Vella Strait who married Edward Iverson 08 January 1941. Fern Hill Cemetery records indicate her name is Bella (Strait) Gorman Iverson. The 1920 Census records shows a Dave and Bella Strait in Skamokawa and mother-in-law Mary Gorman living with them. Fern Hill Cemetery records have Mary Gibson Gorman born 27 August 1858; died 17 October 1921.)
