The Daily News-September 1963 LONGTAIN, Louie Age 65, of Astoria, died in an Astoria hospital. He was born in Cathlamet, and had lived on a farm near Cathlamet before moving to Astoria 35 years ago. He was a retired sawmill worker and a member of IWA Local 332 in Seaside. Surviving are the widow, Borghild, at home; six daughters, Louise Baranowski of Tacoma, Merle Harrison of Centralia, Diane Longtain of Portland, Florence Richardson, Betty Hammonds and Winnifred Arcenaux, all of Astoria; two sons, Donald of Portland and Ronald of Astoria; two sisters, Julian Souvenir and Ellen Gill, and a brother, Henry Longtain, all of Cathlamet; 15 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were Saturday at the Luce-Layton Funeral Home in Astoria. Luce-Layton Funeral Home was in charge.
