Wahkiakum County Eagle-August 1995 Lloyd, John Former Puget Island resident, age 61, died July 28 at Hood River, Ore. He was born September 11, 1933 in Denver, to Alan Arthur and Mary Alice (Havens) Lloyd, and grew up in the Denver area, graduating from Byers High school in Byers, Colo. He moved with his family to the Northwest in 1952 and settled on Puget Island. He and Florence Haugen were married June 25, 1955, in Puget Island. Mr. Lloyd was employed as a log scaler with the Columbia River Log Scaling and Grading Bureau and later worked as a weighmaster for the SDS Lumber Co. He retired in 1984. He was a 20-year member of the Odell, Ore., Volunteer Fire Department, where he had been assistant chief, and had been assistant chief, and had been involved with the Boy Scouts for 10 years, serving as a Scout master. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and woodworking. Survivors include his wife, Florence, at home; a son, Dennis Lloyd of Carson; a daughter, Melinda Lloyd of Hood River; five brothers, Alan Lloyd of Sauvie Island, Ore., Norman Lloyd of Springfield, Ore., Donald Lloyd of Yakima, Dan Lloyd and Greg Lloyd, both of Lynnwood; three sisters, Carol Hudson of Denver, Doris Nigh of Colorado City, Colo., and Sharon Ackerman of Longview; and three grandchildren. The funeral services were Wednesday at Anderson Funeral Home in Hood River. Private family entombment was held at Greenwood Cemetery in Cathlamet. John H.
