Columbia River Sun-January 13, 1916 Cathlamet, Wahkiakum County, Washington Peter Levitz, one of the old familiar figures on the lower Columbia for many years, commonly known as “Russian Pete,” of Dahlia, passed away Wednesday morning at Astoria. He had been in very poor health for the last two or three years and finally became so helpless that the county took him in charge about eight months ago, allowing medical aid and the necessaries of life. The deceased was 82 years of age and had been following the fishing business on the lower Columbia river for the past 35 years.
