Unknown Astoria Publication-3 February 1962 Effie E. Laughlin Effie E. Laughlin, 52 died unexpectedly at her home in Portland Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Laughlin was born October 22, 1909 in Astoria. She received her education here and graduated from Astoria high school in 1928. She attended Oregon College of Education in Monmouth for a year. Mrs. Laughlin was married to Erwin Laughlin of Astoria in 1930 and they lived here for about two years. They moved to Portland where they have since resided. Laughlin has been associated with dairy equipment companies for the past 30 years and is now manager of Western Dairy Equipment company in Portland. Survivors include her husband, Erwin; a daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Nancy) Caton, San Jose, Calif.; a son Robert Laughlin, Portland; five brothers, John Ericksen, Astoria; Bjarne Eriksen, Salem; T. R. Ericksen, Portland; Edward Ericksen, Bellingham, Wash.; two sisters, Mrs. George (Elsie) Ericksen, Astoria, and Mrs. Harold (Ruth) Kinkade, Plattsburgh, N. Y.; three grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Services, which will be Monday morning, are being announced by the Colonial Mortuary in Portland.
