Wahkiakum Eagle-December 1999 KRAFT, Opal Gladys (Kimbel) Age 82, of Grays River, died at St. John Medical Center in Longview. She was born in Grays River, to Walter Luke and Lottie (Durrah) Kimbel. She moved to Everett in 1936 and returned to Grays River in 1988. She was a special education instructor for the Marysville School District for many years. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, University of Oregon Alumni Association, Rosburg Senior Luncheon Group, Grays River Grange, Grays River Quilting Club, and was Womens Activities Director for the Washington State Grange. She had enjoyed trips to Washington, D.C. and Australia. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Franklin Kraft, in 1986, and by her daughter, Sarah Reagen in 1997. Survivors include a son, Joseph M. Kraft of Snohomish; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Graveside service was January 8 at the cemetery. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Columbia Funeral Service.
