Published in The Daily News on 6/12/2007. King, Ida M. Ida Mae King, 72, of Longview died June 5, 2007. She was born Dec. 13, 1934, in Fields, La., to Thomas J. and Lillian V. (McBride) Settle. She graduated from R.A. Long High School in 1953. On Nov. 19, 1956, she married Leonard King. Mrs. King was a homemaker. She was a loving woman who made all people part of her family. She and Leonard enjoyed gardening and canning at their farm in Grays River. They returned to the Longview area in 1998. Mr. King preceded her in death on April 15, 2003. She enjoyed volunteering through her church, Robert Gray Baptist, Friday shopping with her sister, Juanita, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed flower gardening, puzzles, crossword puzzles and the ocean. She is survived by two sons, James King of Longview and Steve King of Mercer Island, Wash.; two brothers, Earl Settle of Longview and Phillip Settle of La Crensenta, Calif.; a sister, Juanita Rodahl of Cathlamet; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Mrs. King was preceded in death by three infant siblings and a brother, Roy Settle, in 2006. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Dowling Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. Eric Johnson will officiate. The viewing will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Thursday and 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
