Columbia River Sun-Thursday, January 16, 1919 Cathlamet, Wahkiakum County, Washington Dale Kelly, the second son of Mrs. Detlet Veers, died at his home in the West Valley Sunday eve of pneumonia, following an attack of Spanish influenza. The funeral was Tuesday afternoon, the service in charge of the Redmen of Skamokawa, and Rev. R. C. Blackler read the beautiful ritual ceremony. The service was in the open air on the spacious front veranda of their home. The pallbearers were Wm. Peterson, Elbert Fredrickson, Sidney McKinnon, Albert Roeder, Clifford Monroe and Clarence Winter. Internment was made at the Fern Hill Cemetery. Dale Kelly was born in Myrtle Creek, Ore., Jan. 8, 1880. He is survived by mother, a brother, Earl Kelly, and a sister, Fern Kelly. Dale was a young man of genial disposition who had the happy knack of making friends wherever he went. He was a good and loving son and brother and was held in high esteem by his many friends.
