The Wahkiakum County Eagle-April 10, 2008 Cathlamet, Washington Albert C. Kehrli Longtime Cathlamet resident, Albert Casper Kehrli passed away at his home April 6, 2008. He was 91 years old. Al was born March 3, 1917 in Progress, Oregon to Casper and Margaret (Von Allmen) Kehrli. He attended school in Beaverton, OR and came to Cathlamet in 1936. He married Goldie Peterson on October 20, 1946; she preceded him in death on February 21, 2005. Al served in the Army Air Corps during WWII from 1941-1945, stationed in England. He was a milk truck driver for Darigold for many years; a farmer and drove school bus for Wahkiakum School District. He was a Charter Member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church; Teamster Union; and a life member of VFW Post 5297 in Cathlamet. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling and gardening as well as his “grand dog” Ashley and his family. He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Alan and Theresa Kehrli of Mt. Vernon, WA and John and Jewell Kehrli of Puget Island, WA; a brother, Herbert Kehrli of Puget Island, two sisters, Emma Gregory of Roseburg, OR and Hulda LeGro of Mt. Vernon, OR; two grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a son, Terry Kehrli in 1976, a brother Casper Kehrli and a sister Clara Ruhlin. A funeral will be held 11:00 AM Friday at Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park. Private entombment will take place at Longview Memorial Park.
