The Wahkiakum County Eagle-April 11, 1991 Wiljo M. Kandoll Wiljo M. Kandoll, age 73, of Longview died April 7, 1991 in a Longview Nursing Home. He was born September 17, 1917 in Astoria to Jacob Hejlmar and Elsa Fredrika (Kummala) Kandoll. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II serving as a U.S. Army Military Police in Europe. He was a dairy farmer, Logger and later a log trucker in the Grays River area in 1979 he moved to Longview. He was also an active member of the Apostolic Lutheran Church in Castle Rock. Survivors include his wife Helen at home; 4 daughters, Jean Johnson of Astoria; Mary Vik of Cathlamet; Susan Sundqvist of Helsinki, Finland; Elizabeth Holmgren of Clatskanie; 8 sons, Thomas, Robert, John H. Kandoll of Longview; Terry and William Kandoll of Napavine; Stanley Kandoll of Tacoma; Philip Kandoll of Kelso; and Michael Kandoll of Clark AFB Phillipines; 3 sisters, Elsie Wirkkala of Longview; Elma Impola of Menahga Minnesota; Toini Seppanen of Lake Norden, South Dakota; 3 brothers John J. and Theodore Kandoll of Rosburg; Gustaf Kandoll of Grays River. 36 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Roy Kandoll in 1940 and a granddaughter Rachelle in 1982. Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the Seal River Apostolic Lutheran Church in Rosburg. Officiating will be Pastors Rafael Kurtti, Carl Kulla and Arne Nordahl. Internment will follow at the Seal River Cemetery. Viewing will be Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. McVickors Chapel on the Hill of Kelso is in charge of arrangements.
