Wahkiakum County Eagle-June 1996 Stanley Dwight Kandoll Age 46, of Tacoma, died in a Tacoma hospital of natural causes. He was born in Ilwaco, to Wiljo and Helen (Wicklund) Kandoll, and grew up on the family farm in Grays River. He was a devout Christian who was a member of the Apostolic Lutheran Church in several locations. He loved to sing English and Finnish hymns and songs. For the past seven years, he had lived in Tacoma under the care of Betty McDonald, Alvin Pascual, Narcy Sims and Michelle (last name unknown). Survivors include his mother, Helen Kandoll of Puget Island; four sisters, Jean Johnson of Astoria, Mary Vik of Puget Island, Elizabeth Holmgren of Clatskanie and Susan Sundquist of Helsinki, Finland; seven brothers, Thomas of Longview, Terry of Napavine, Philip of Kelso, Michael of Raymond, Robert of Longview, William of Lynnwood, and John of Battle Ground; 40 nieces and nephews; two grandnieces; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. His father died in 1991. Funeral services were Saturday at Seal River Church, Grays River, with Rev. Gustaf Kandoll officiating. Dowling Funeral Home was in charge.
