Wahkiakum Eagle-September 2001 Mildred Caroline Kandoll Age 87, of Rosburg, died in Cathlamet. She was born in Bryant, S. D., to Matthew and Ida J. (Kangas) Seppanen. She lived in Rosburg since 1954, coming from Berkeley, Calif. She worked as a secretary in the shipyards for the Navy during and after WWII for many years and a bookkeeper for Western Wahkiakum Telephone Co., for 16 years. She was a member of Seal River Apostolic Lutheran Church in Rosburg and served as church secretary for many years. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, sewing and oil painting. She was a wonderful artist. She married John Kandoll August 24, 1954, in Berkeley. He survives her at home. Also surviving are six brothers, Willard M. Seppanen and Martin H. Seppanen, both of Lake Norden, S. D., Elwood R. Seppanen and Stewart F. Seppanen, both of Vienna, S. D., Maurice H. Seppanen of Hayti, S. D., and Edwin M. Seppanen of Newark, Del.; two sisters, Minnie F. Isaacson of Lake Norden and Viola E. Gore of Lenox, Mass.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were three brothers. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Seal River Apostolic Lutheran Church of Rosburg. Dowling Funeral Home was in charge.
