Wahkiakum Eagle-September 2000 KANDOLL, Helen Florence Age 81, died at a Cathlamet care center. She was born in Winona, Mich., to Fredrick and Serafina (Willman) Wicklund and graduated from Winona High School in 1937. She was a member of the Apostolic Lutheran Church for more than 60 years and loved to play hymns on her piano and organ. She was gifted with a natural musical ability. She will be remembered for her hospitality, often entertaining family and friends. She married Wiljo Kandoll April 17, 1943, in Minneapolis, Minn. They lived in the Grays River area from 1944 to 1979. He preceded her in death in 1991. Also preceding her were a son, Stanley, in 1996; a granddaughter, Rachelle Kandoll, in 1982; four sisters; and two brothers. Survivors include seven sons, Thomas, Michael, and Robert, all of Longview, Terry of Napavine, Philip of Kelso, William of Lynnwood, and John H. of LaCenter; four daughters, Jean Johnson of Astoria, Mary Vik of Puget Island, Susan Sundquist of Helsinki, Finland and Elizabeth Holmgren of Clatskanie, Ore.; a sister, Mae Amundson of Minneapolis, Minn.; 42 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Thursday at the Seal River Apostolic Lutheran Church in Rosburg. Pastor Carl Kulla and Pastor Alvin Holmgren will officiate. Dowling Funeral Home was in charge.
