Wahkiakum Eagle-November 2001 Gustaf Hjalmar 'Gust' Kandoll He resided in Longview and died at an area nursing home. He was born in Rosburg to Jacob Hjalmar and Elsa Fredrika (Kummala) Kandoll. He was ordained as a minister for the Apostolic Lutheran Church in 1958. He and his wife, Adeline, traveled all 50 states and he visited 42 countries as a missionary. He loved people. He is survived by his wife of 55 years at home; five sons, Joseph of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Joel of Castle Rock, Dave of Winlock, Paul of Kelso and Andrew of Champion, Mich.; four daughters, Joyce Karnes of Florence, Ore., June Kannianen and Darlene Kannianen, both of Stanley, N. Dak., and Deloris Pooley of Toutle; two brothers, John of Cathlamet and Theodore 'Ted' of Rosburg; three sisters, Elsie Wirkkala of Longview, Elma Impola of Menahga, Minn., and Toini Seppanen of Lake Norden, S. Dak.; 30 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held Saturday.
