Wahkiakum County Eagle-July 1996 JOHNSON, Andrew W. "Andy" Life-long Pacific county resident, age 81, died in Long Beach. He was born in South Bend, the son of Albert and Barbara (Rudser) Johnson. His father was the first white man born in Naselle, and Andy grew up in Naselle, received his education there and graduated from Naselle High school. During WWII, he served with the Merchant Marine. He worked principally as a log truck driver. Later he was a janitor and bus mechanic for the Naselle-Grays River Valley school district until retirement. A member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Seaview. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with friends. He married Virginia Clark in April of 1949 in Longview. Mrs. Johnson was a school teacher in Naselle until retirement in 1982 and she died in 1984. He is survived by nephews, Roy Rumery of Everett and Erwin Rumery of Texas; and special friends the Paul Polillo family of Naselle. Funeral services were held June 18, at Penttila's Chapel by the Sea, Long Beach, with Father John Mann officiating. Penttila's Chapel by the Sea was in charge.
