The Daily News-October 1966 Otelius Jacobsen Age 79, of Puget Island, died in a Tacoma hospital. He was born in Norway, and came to this country in 1909 settling in South Bend and then moved to Puget Island in 1925. He was a retired dairy farmer, troller, and was a fisherman in the Bering Sea for 33 years without a power boat. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Survivors include four sons, Erling of Seattle, Lief of Portland, Carl of Longview and Frank of Puget Island; three daughters, Thelma Prestegard of Puget Island, Margaret Duvall of Seattle and Edith Sauer of Longview; two sisters, Amanda Rye of South Bend and Emma Stavnes of Winger, Minn.; 17 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Services will be Monday at the Dowling Funeral Chapel with Rev. Preston Smith officiating. Dowling Funeral Home was in charge.
