The Wahkiakum County Eagle - December 11. 2008 Floyd H. Hoven Longtime Cathlamet resident, Floyd H. Hoven, 89, passed away December 4, 2008 at a local nursing home. He was born on October 27, 1919 in Alvado, New Mexico to Joseph and Edith (Bookhammer) Hoven. He served two tours in the Army Air Corps during WWII. Floyd worked for Crown Zellerbach Corp; he was Weighmaster for 20 years, retiring in 1985. His wife, Jeannette, preceded him in death in 2006. His first wife, Agatha preceded him in 1978. He loved doing carpentry and enjoyed trains & planes. He was a longtime member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars - #5297 and Wahkiakum Lions Club. Floyd is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Floyd Jr and Barbara, Richard and Joyce, John and Anita and Fred and Darlene; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Cindy and Calvin Grasseth, Christine and Erik Andres, Toni and Dave Ross and Gloria Holmes; two step-daughters, Julie Whitrock and Patti Weeks; four brothers, Clarence, Harold, Homer and Ray; one sister, Edna Jean Hoven; numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren. He was preceded by two brothers and a sister. A graveside service was held on December 7, 2008 at Greenwood Cemetery in Cathlamet.
