Longview Daily News-January 2, 1962 Page 10 HERON – Mrs. Lulu Bailey, 93, Cathlamet, died Jan. 1 at a local hospital. Born May 16, 1968 in AuSable, Mich., she came to Skamokawa from Michigan with her family in 1889 and taught school in Cathlamet in 1890 until her marriage that year to John W. Heron. Mrs. Heron had lived continuously in Cathlamet since 1910. She was a member of the St. James Mission of the Episcopal Church, was a charter member of Tahoma Chapter 226 Order of Eastern Star and the Cathlamet Woman’s Club, and was a member of the DAR and Mayflower Society. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Blanche H. Bradley of Cathlamet and Mrs. Frances Heron Campbell of Portland; 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. James Mission with the Rt. Rev. Frank A. Rhea, retired bishop of Idaho, officiating. Requiem celebration of Holy Communion will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. James Mission. Interment will be at the Fern Hill Cemetery. Friends wishing to pay respects are invited to call at the Dowling Funeral Home. Those desiring to offer an expression of sympathy are asked to make a contribution to the Fund for the Blind.
