The Wahkiakum County Eagle-October 9, 2008 Glenrose M. Hedlund Glenrose Marie Hedlund passed away September 30, 2008 at the age of 87. She was born on December 23, 1920 to Emil and Lillian (Johnson) Lindgren of Deep River. She attended elementary school in Deep River and graduated from Naselle High School in 1939. Glenrose married Clarence Hedlund on February 23, 1940 and they were married for 56 years. She was a loving wife and dedicated caregiver to him for many years. Glenrose will be remembered for her wonderful smile and her sweet, friendly personality. She loved flowers and often provided centerpieces for the Senior Citizen lunches and "other community events. She had an interest in family history and area history. She collected antiques and enjoyed being asked to display her collections at events like "Tea in Glenrose’s Attic", the Annual Spring Tea in Rosburg in 2006 and at the Finnish American Folk Festival in Naselle this past July. She spent many summer weekends hosting tours with her friends at her grandfather’s cabin at Cullaby Lake. Glenrose worked at the Rosburg Store for 9 years and was a member of the Wahkiakum County Historical Society, the Gray’s River Grange and the Finnish American Historical Society of the West. Preceding Glenrose in death were her husband Clarence in 1996, her son Dennis in 2007, sister Mildred Jones and borther Robert Lindgren. Surviving are her daughters Dianne (Sid) Kogut and Elaine (Michael) Wilbanks, her grandchildren - Tara, Jeffery, Kaysha, Joey, Jennifer, Michael and Erin, 5 great-grandchildren and a large number of extended family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Glenrose’s name to the Deep River Pioneer Church c/o Thelma Miller 5212 SR 4 West Naselle, WA 98638 or to the Wahkiakum County Historical Society Museum PO Box 541 Cathlamet, WA 98612. A memorial service will be held at the Deep River Pioneer Church on Deep River Valley Road on October 11, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a private interment for family at the Rosburg Cemetery and a reception for family and friends at the Rosburg Hall, 28 Rosburg Community Hall Road.
