The Wahkiakum County Eagle-January 25, 2007 Dennis C. Hedlund Dennis Clarence Hedlund was born January 5, 1941 to Clarence Hedlund and Glenrose (Lindgren) Hedlund. He was raised in Deep River, with his two sisters, Diane and Elaine. After high school and fours years in the Navy, Dennis moved to Portland, and started driving trucks for J.A. Freeman and Sons. He married Linda, his wife of 32 years, in 1974. His daughter Joey and son Michael were born soon after. Dennis was a loving husband and a great father, teaching his kids to have fun along with the work you have to do in life. Fishing with Joey, baseball and soccer with Mike, he was there with his love and support. Dennis loved to drive his truck, he was always eager to get home and then back out on the road again. He never met a stranger and those who knew him liked and respected him. If you needed a favor, a helping hand, Dennis was the first one there to offer it, no questions asked. Those of you who know Glenrose Hedlund will understand what a wonderful man her son was. He will be miss by us all. A memorial will be held in Milwaukie, Oregon on January 30. Services and burial of ashes at Rosburg will be at a later date. (As transcribed by the Wahkiakum County Historical Society Museum 2007)
