Wahkiakum County Eagle-February 1996 Errol Oscar Heagy Age 77, died at his home on Greenwood road. He was born at LaGrande, Ore., the son of Floyd and Nellie (Routh) Heagy. He was married to Jean Campbell July 21, 1945 at Kalama and the couple observed their 50 anniversary last year. He was in the logging business during the Vanport flood and lost much of his equipment at that time. In 1947 the Heagys moved to Skamokawa where he worked for Ship yard and Morris and Archie Adams. He logged for Crown Zellerbach for 30 years, retiring in 1977. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling and his extended family. He was a member of the Elochoman Grange. The family moved to Cathlamet in 1952. Survivors include his wife, at home; a daughter, Judy Houk of Bend, Ore.; four sons, Steve of Ketchikan, Alaska, Dennis Barkley of Longview and Ronald and Terry Heagy of Cathlamet; a brother and sister; 18 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. A son Dennis died in 1978. Services were Wednesday at Dowling Funeral Chapel with Rev. John Turner officiating. Dowling Funeral Home was in charge.
