Published in The Daily News on 3/23/2007, On-Line. Hazel M. Harris 1928 - 2007 Former Cathlamet resident Hazel Marie Harris, 78, of Centralia died March 20, 2007. She was born Dec. 26, 1928, in Brevard, N.C., to Joseph T. and Connie (Galloway) Owen. Mrs. Harris lived in Cathlamet from 1966 to 1977 when she moved to Centralia. She lived in Portland before returning to Cathlamet in October 2004 and then returned to Centralia several months ago. She married Oliver Harris on May 6, 1949. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Harris worked as a certified nurse's aide in several nursing homes including Columbia View Care Center. She also worked at Share & Care in Centralia. Survivors include seven sons, Farrell Harris, James Harris, Keith Harris, Kenneth Harris, Darryl Harris, Michael Harris and Phillip Harris; four daughters, Lynah Gale, Sharon Raymond, Rita Hinkley and Angela Trotter; two brothers, Bill Owen and James Owen; four sisters, Pauline Drake, Ruby Shelton, Louise Guilliams and Gladys Leaf; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Dowling Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at Bunker Hill Cemetery. A luncheon will follow the graveside committal at the Elochoman Grange Hall. Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday and 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
