Wahkiakum Co. Eagle-September 1996 Lula Mae Hall Age 74, died at her Long Beach residence. She was born in Idabelle, Okla, the oldest child of 10 born to William and Bettie (Sturges) Henderson. The family later moved to Wright City, Okla, where she received her schooling. She moved to Longview in 1942 where she worked at Longview Fibre and at the Vancouver shipyards as a welder during WWII. Following her marriage to Martin Hall on Nov. 8, 1947 in Kent, she lived in Seattle. The couple lived in various cities on the west coast as Mr. Hall worked for the Federal government. They lived in Cathlamet from 1980 until 1986 when they retired and moved to Long Beach. She was a past member of Puget Island Grange in Cathlamet. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, reading, cooking and being a homemaker. Her family will remember her pleasant, outgoing personality and her willingness to help her family and others. She is survived by her husband of 49 years; son Michael Hall and daughter Carol Hauxhurst, both of Long Beach; sisters, Margaret Stout of Squaw Valley; Ida, and Sue Contreras of Hayward, Calif.; grandchildren Anna Hall, Andrew Hall, Natalie Lofling and Kassie Lofling; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. Funeral services were Sept. 26 at Penttila's Chapel by the Sea, Long Beach. Penttila's Chapel by the Sea was in charge.
