Unknown Newspaper- Jan. 22, 1986 Page 8 Hall, Hazel E. (Anderson) Hazel E. Hall, daughter of pioneer homesteaders of Rosburg in the Grays River Valley, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 1986, at an Astoria care center. She was 87. Mrs. Hall was born Nov. 10, 1898, the daughter of Charles and Franciska Amundson Anderson. She received her primary schooling in Rosburg, then graduated from Jefferson High School in Portland. She studied voice at Whitman College in Walla Walla, and studied under Rose Coursen Reed at Reed College in Portland. She and her husband, Dan Hall, whom she married in Rosburg on April 8, 1917, were active in singing activities in the community. She sang in the church choir for more than 35 years. Mr. Hall died Sept. 15, 1983. Mrs. Hall was a member of the First United Methodist Church; past master of the Rosburg Grange and the Wahkiakum County Pomona Grange; a 4-H leader for many years; a member of Fern Chapter O.E.S.; a member of Daughters of Norway; and a past member of the Y.W.C.A. board. Surviving are a son, George Anderson, Hillsboro, Ore.; two sisters, Emily Olson, Astoria, and Grace Munson, Chinook; one granddaughter and one great-grandson. A memorial funeral was held Monday, Jan. 20, 1986, at the First United Methodist Church. Arrangements by Hughes-Ransom Mortuary, Astoria. Hazel E.
