Wahkiakum Co. Eagle-February 28, 1974 GROSS, Heston H. Age 57, a prominent businessman in Cathlamet for 28 years, died suddenly in a Longview hospital. He was a victim of a heart attack. He was born in Oakland, Ore., and came to Cathlamet in 1946 where he owned and operated Gross’ Market. He was active in civic affairs, serving for many years as member of the Cathlamet Town council and was a member of the Elks Lodge. Survivors include the widow, Myrtle, at home; a son, Wayne of Puget Island; a daughter, Janice Snyder of Longview; one sister, Lucille Scovill of Eugene, Ore.; and eight grandchildren. Graveside services were held Saturday at the cemetery with Rev. Gene Ross officiating. Dowling Funeral Home was in charge.
