Wahkiakum Eagle- May 1997 GREGG, Donnelly 'Dave' Age 75, of Rosburg, died in a Cathlamet care center. He was born in Kirkland, to Donnelly W. and Amy Grace (Galey) Gregg, and when he was 15 he moved from Auburn to Portland, where he attended Benson High school and graduated from Washington High School. He then attended Reed College. He was a Navy veteran of WWII as an aviation machinist, repairing blimps at Tillamook, Ore. He and his wife, Esther, were married June 12, 1955, at Milton- Freewater, Ore. They loved the Columbia Gorge and owned a ranch east of Cascade Locks, Ore. They moved to Rosburg in 1987 from Portland. He enjoyed his horses and livestock, hiking and trout fishing with his wife, and reading nonfiction. He was a member of the American Legion, Barr-Johnson-Hill Post 111 of Deep River, and the Grays River Grange. Survivors include his wife, Esther, at home; two sons, Donnelly David Gregg, Jr. in Michigan and George S. MacGregor of Seattle; a sister, Audrey K. Gregg of Portland; and three grandchildren. A celebration of life and graveside service was Thursday. Sebastian Collupy officiated. Dowling Funeral Home was in charge.
