The Eagle-Thursday, August 10, 1944 Cathlamet Pioneer Citizen Passes On Mrs. Florence Gorman, a pioneer of Cathlamet, died in Tacoma Monday, August 7. She was born in Westport, Oregon, December 4, 1864. Her father had a logging camp in that locality and Mrs. Gorman spent her girlhood there and received her education in the Westport schools. In 1892 she married Mike Gorman and moved to Cathlamet where Mr. Gorman went into business. They were prominent in civic affairs as Mr. Gorman was mayor of Cathlamet for years. The Gorman's sold their holdings here in 1919 and moved to Astoria but returned to Cathlamet five years later and Mrs. Gorman had resided here until her recent illness. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Oliver Kaipi, and two sons, Ray of San Francisco and Charles whose address in unknown. The funeral will be held today from the Congregational church. Hatton Funeral Home has charge of the services and Rev. W. W. Head will officiate. Cremation in Portland.
