Wahkiakum Eagle-February 1999 GORMAN, Corrine Delores 'Connie' (Daubel) Age 71, died of ovarian cancer at the Hospice Care Center in Longview. She was born in Bend, Ore., to Emil and Audrey (Innes) Daubel. She was raised in Bend and met her future husband, Russell Gorman, there. They married in Tacoma on June 28, 1944. In 1946, she and her husband moved to Cathlamet and later purchased his father's farm there. She worked as a grocery clerk at what is now Cathlamet Market for 19 years, retiring in 1996. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends, playing cards, especially pinochle and cribbage, and she loved bingo. She was a member of the Elochoman Grange. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1973. Survivors include three sons, Charles R. 'Randy', of Glendive, Mont., Jim of Kelso and Allen of Clatskanie; three daughters, Julie a Chamberlain of Cathlamet, Shari L. Parker of Crocker, Mo., and Becky L. Nyberg of Bend, Ore.; a sister, Shirley Starr, unknown; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a niece. A celebration of life was held Saturday, February 27, at the Elochoman Grange in Cathlamet. Dowling Funeral Home was in charge.
