Newspaper Unknown-September 1988 FRITZ, Margaret Lillian "Peggy" A longtime resident of Cathlamet, died in St. John's Medical Center at the age of 88. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. She her husband, Dr. Harold Fritz, were married in 1924. They lived in San Francisco and Tacoma before moving in 1926 to Cathlamet, where he was the company doctor for Crown Zellerbach. She was a homemaker and had also helped her husband during the early years. She enjoyed entertaining in her home and singing and playing the piano. She was a charter member of the Cowlitz-Wahkiakum County Medical Auxiliary; a member of the Order of Eastern Star; the Children's Orthopedic Guild and the Cathlamet Women's Club. She attended the United Congregational Church and had been active in the American Red Cross during WWII. She was also an avid bridge player and belonged to several bridge clubs. She is survived at home by her husband, Dr. Harold Fritz. Also surviving are two daughters, Beverly Allen of Chelan and Margaret Chessman of Edmonds; a son, William H. Fritz of Ottawa, Canada; a sister, Edith Adams of Vermillion, Ohio; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral was Friday in the Cathlamet United Congregational church with Rev. Ruth Mathis officiating. Dowling Funeral Home was in charge.
