Wahkiakum Co. Eagle-February 15, 1968 FLATO, Toralf M. A resident of Puget Island for more than 50 years, died Monday in a Longview hospital at the age of 78. He was born in Harstad, Norway, and came to the United States in 1912. He was a commercial fisherman. He was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran church, Masonic Lodge 276, the Columbia River Shrine of Tacoma. He was a veteran of WWI. Survivors include the widow, Karen, of Cathlamet; two sons, Erling of Clatskanie and Ted of Longview; three sisters, Agnes Peterson, Olga Flato, Borghild Markinson, and one brother, Agaar Flato, all of Norway; and two grandsons, Gregory and Timothy of Clatskanie. Funeral services were held Wednesday at Our Saviour’s Lutheran church on Puget Island. Rev. James Bullock officiated. Dowling Funeral Home was in charge.
