The Eagle-December 21, 1944 FLANDERS, George Geo. Flanders Dies of Heart Attack George Flanders, 48, for 15 years a resident of Cathlamet, died Sunday in Cowlitz General hospital, Longview, following a heart attack. He had been in ill health for several years, but only recently retired from work. George Flanders was born in Finland, but with his parents came to the United States when a very small boy. The family located in Texas near Galveston. He came to Cathlamet about 15 years ago and was employed by Crown Zellerbach as millwright, later becoming mill foreman. He is survived by the wife, Ingrid Marie; one daughter, Wanda Marie; two sons, Jack and Bill who are in the navy; four brothers, Walter, Vancouver, Wash., Rapheal, Portland, Axel, Santa Monica, Cal., Maurice, in the navy; three sisters, Mrs. Alga Seilon, Salem, Ore., Mrs. Jack Fitzmaurice, Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Ragnar Carlson, Coos Bay, Ore. Funeral services, tentatively set for Saturday pending word from the two sons, Jack and Bill who are somewhere in the South Pacific, will be conducted by Rev. W. W. Head from Hatton’s Funeral Parlors, who have charge of funeral arrangements. Burial will be in Memorial cemetery, Longview.
