Wahkiakum Eagle-January 1998 FLANDERS, George William Age 78, died at a Longview Hospice. He was born in Vancouver, to George and Ingrid (Johnson) Flanders. He grew up in Cathlamet and after graduating from Wahkiakum High school served in the US Navy. During his lifetime he had his own welding business, operated Paul's Tavern in Cathlamet and was a part owner of Hughes Hardware. He also sold cemetery and mausoleum property and enjoyed fishing, hunting and bird hunting. Survivors include two daughters, Normie Wilson of Kelso and Billie Kerr of Longview; a sister, Wanda Quigley of Vancouver; a special friend, Jerry Allen of Longview; a special nephew, George Quigley of Vancouver; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Services were Friday at the Cathlamet Congregational Church. Dowling Funeral Home was in charge.
