The Wahkiakum County Eagle-February 25, 1999 Lucille Firkus Former Cathlamet resident Lucille Firkus, 77 died February 16, 1999, in Milwaukie, Ore. She was born November 30, 1931, in St. Paul, Minn. Her maiden name was Geiger. Mrs. Firkus lived in Bend, Ore., for 16 years, then moved to Cathlamet, in 1963. In 1969 she moved to the Portland area, where she has lived since. She and Albert Firkus were married in 1946. He died in 1984. Survivors include two sons, Lyle Firkus Johnson of Atlanta, Ga., and Larry Firkus of Portland; six daughters, Sandra Quigley of Cathlamet, Darlene Settles of Longview, Irene Potter of Portland, and Cecilia Parnell, Patricia “Pat” Fish and Bertie Murphy, all in Minnesota; 44 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great- grandchildren. Services were held Saturday at Dowling Funeral Home. Burial was a Greenwood Cemetery.
