Wahkiakum Eagle-Dec. 2000 FEIRING, Arthur Age 91, died in Mesa, Ariz. He was a longtime Cathlamet resident and businessman. He was born and lived in North Dakota until 1925. He later moved to Seattle, where he began his career as master woodworker. He also met the man who would forever change his life, I. N. McGrath. McGrath gave him valuable working skills and most of all--the heart of his daughter, Odene McGrath. He married Odene in 1935. The Feirings moved to Cathlamet in 1945. During the next 30 years he and Odene owned and operated Feirings Building Materials. They were active in the Grange activities, Puget Island Fire Department, the Commercial Club of Cathlamet, Camp Fire Girls and Cathlamet Congregational Church. In 1980 the Feirings moved to Mesa. They enjoyed continuing friendships with trailer club members from Cathlamet and Longview. They also continued to fish, travel and enjoy the weather. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Odene. Also daughter, Pat Bristow of Kent and Phyllis Pulfer of Walla Walla; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and their families. He was predeceased by a brother, Jim Feiring of Mt. Vernon, sisters, Ella of Seattle and Maren Tholo--longtime Cathlamet resident, and grandson, Bruce Pulfer.
