The Eagle-August 30, 1945 Cathlamet, Wahkiakum County, Washington EVANS, Edwin Wallace Edwin Wallace Evans, 57, Skamokawa farmer, died Sunday, August 26, following an illness of about three months. He was born in Garrison, Mont., and moved to Skamokawa about 10 years ago from Ilwaco. Mr. Evans served in the coast guard during World War I, was a member of American Legion and Skamokawa Grange, and was active in both organizations. He is survived by the widow, Elizabeth E. Evans; one daughter, Mrs. Mildred W. Sturgeon, Warrenton, Ore.; three sons, Wallace N. of Portland, Ore., Edward Rodney and David R., in service; one brother, Phillip Evans of Bozeman, Mont., and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. J. L Tooley at Skamokawa Methodist church Friday, August 31, followed by graveside services at Ilwaco. Hatton’s Funeral Home of Cathlamet is in charge of funeral arrangements.
