The Eagle-02 March 1951 Last Rites Held for Naselle Lady Rosburg-Services for Mrs. Viola Irene Ervest, 27, were held Tuesday, at the Naselle Congregational church. Casket bearers were Eric Nicholson, Waino Wirkkala, Grant Erickson, LeRoy Sunquist, Carlton Appelo and Burton Appelo. Mrs. Ervest died last Friday in Ilwaco, three hours after having been hospitalized with a cerebral hemorrhage suffered earlier the same day. She was born April 29, 1923, in Astoria. She was reared in Deep river, attending grade school there and was a graduate of Naselle high school. On Jan. 19, 1945, shortly after her graduation from St. Mary’s hospital nursing school, she was married in Ilwaco to Ray Allen Ervest, who survives her. While Ervest served in the marine corps, Mrs. Ervest worked as a nurse in hospitals in California. After Ervest was discharged from the service, they moved to Olympia, Wash., living there until two years ago when they moved to Rosburg. Surviving her, in addition to the widower, are a son, Terry Allen, and a daughter, Candace Marie, Rosburg; her mother, Mrs. Elmer Finnila, Naselle; a brother, Reino Kemppi, Naselle; two sisters, Mrs. Thelma Sche and Mrs. Frances Brinish, both of San Mateo, Calif., and her grandmother, Mrs. Sophia Wirkkala, Deep River.
