Wahkiakum Eagle-June 1983 ELLISON, Ruth Marie Age 87, died at home. She was born at Cokato, Minn. She and her husband, Herman E. Ellison, were married April 3, 1918, and moved to Skamokawa in 1919 where they lived for 58 years before moving to Cathlamet in 1977. He survives her at home. She was a member of the Community United Methodist Church of Skamokawa, the Ladies Aide, Mentor Club and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was past worthy matron of Wahcoma Chapter 226, Order of Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile. Also surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Audrey and Thomas W. Maughn of Ilwaco; two sisters, Rhoda Cercek of Long Beach, Calif., and Olive Gustafson of Vancouver; two brothers, Ed Wedin of Clackamus, Ore., and Wally Wedin of College Place; two grandchildren, Thomas D. Maughan of Phoenix, Ariz., and Susan Jaynes of Eagle Creek, Alaska; and six great-grandchildren. Services were Tuesday in the Community United Methodist church, Skamokawa, with Rev. Everett L. Groves officiating. Dowling Funeral Home was in charge.
