Wahkiakum Eagle-June 1999 ELLIOTT, Myra Odessa Age 73, a Naselle resident, died in Astoria. She was born in Iowa. When she was four years old her mother died and when she was 10 her family moved to Ukiah, Calif. where she grew up. She met Gordon Elliott in San Francisco and following his discharge from the Army they were married October 7, 1945. They moved to the Long Beach Peninsula the same year, settling in Seaview where Gordon operated a barber shop. She was a homemaker and after her children were grown did housework for others. She moved to Naselle in 1983. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, reading, crossword puzzles and in younger years, long walks. Her family will remember the special love she and her husband enjoyed, and a lady who took pride in her independence and her ability to speak her mind. She is survived by a daughter, Lois Nelson of Naselle; son, Robert Elliott of Cathedral City, Calif.; a sister, Marie Leonard of Susanville, Calif.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Two sisters and one brother died earlier as did her husband, Gordon, who died in 1991. Funeral services were Wednesday at Penttila's Chapel by the Sea, Long Beach. Penttila's Chapel by the Sea was in charge.
