Wahkiakum Co. Eagle-Aug. 05, 1971 DOWLING, Lewis E. Lewis E. Dowling, who operated Dowling Funeral Home in Cathlamet for 10 years, died Monday at Des Moines. He was born in Stevensville, Mont., September 18, 1890 and was a retired mortician. He retired in 1964 and moved to Des Moines at that time. He was associated with Buckley King Mortuary in Tacoma for 27 years. A member of the United Methodist church, he was a 50-year member of the Stevensville Masonic Lodge, Beulah Chapter 8 OES and Kelso Scottish Rite. Survivors include the widow, Nell, at home; one son, L. Marshall of Severno Park, Md.; two daughters, Mary McQuire of Loalla, and Charlaine Brock of Tacoma; a stepson, Theodore Picard of Vienna, Va.; two stepdaughters, Corinne Black of Costa Mesa, Calif. and Mrs. B. Jane Leist of Downey, Calif.; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Services were held Thursday.
