Columbia River Sun-Thursday April 12, 1917 Douglas, Walter E. Walter Earl Douglas, aged 36 years, unmarried died at Portland Monday evening, April 9th. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Douglas and one sister, Mrs. W. H. Oxman, both residing at Cathlamet. He was found dead in his room at the National hotel, Portland, by his room mate, John Paul, death apparently, having been the result of heart failure. The remains were forwarded to Castle Rock, Wash., where the funeral service will be held and interment made.
