Daily World-Saturday, February 14, 2004 Aberdeen, Washington John L. Doll - February 12, 2004 CATHLAMET - John Lincoln Doll, 86, who lived in North River for many years, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, in Cathlamet. John was born Feb. 13, 1917, in Astoria, Ore., to Clyde L. & Hilda H. (Silvola) Doll. He was raised in Naselle and graduated from high school there in 1936. He went to worked as a timber faller. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II in the 315th Troop Carrier Squadron in India, Burma and China. He went back into the service during the Korean War. He also served one year in Germany. He married Pearl Hokkanen in 1958. She died in 1991. He worked for the Weyerhaeuser Co. for 20 years as a cutter in the woods out of Cosmopolis. He belonged to the Grays Harbor Rifle & Pistol Club, the Westport Veterans of Foreign Wars and Solos widow and widower support group in Westport. There will be no funeral. A memorial serviced will be planned at a later date. Arrangements are by Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen. (As compiled by the Wahkiakum County Historical Society 2007.)
