Wahkiakum County Eagle-August 28, 2008 Cathlamet, Washington Steven J. Dobbins Naselle resident Steven James Dobbins, 46, passed away August 22, 2008 as a result of an automobile accident. He was born April 1, 1962 in Lebanon, OR to Jim and Brenda (Broom) Dobbins. He attended school in Cosmopolis and the Aberdeen-Hoquiam area. He also lived in Chehalis; moving to Naselle 7 years ago. On April 5, 2003 he married Lori Gollersrud in Naselle; she survives him at home. Steve was an MP in the Army. For the last seven years, he worked as a truck driver for J.M. Browning Trucking, Inc, prior to that he worked for Balmelli Trucking in Chehalis and Weyerhauser Paper Mill in Cosmopolis. He worked very hard to support his family, the wife and kids that he loved so much. Steve was a devoted family man, he respected his mom’s hard work as a single mom and his grandma for her old fashioned discipline and good southern cooking. Steve enjoyed cooking and did Thanksgiving dinner for everyone. He taught Lori how took cook meals that didn’t come from a box. He especially cherished his children, James, Chad and River. His Uncle Mike taught him how to hunt, which became one of his favorite pastimes, along with fishing, quad riding and NASCAR. He also enjoyed coaching and playing baseball. He loved spending time at Gollersruds Beach at Pillar Rock; with his family and friends. He had a wonderful relationship with Leon and Linda Gollersrud; they were like a 2nd set of parents. He is survived by his wife, Lori Dobbins; sons, Chad Dobbins and James Dobbins; daughter, River Dobbins; his parents, Brenda McIntosh and Jim Dobbins; a sister, Sandy Jensen; grandmother, Iona Heitzmann; sister and brother-in-law, Krista and Bill Bocker; mother and father-in-law, Linda and Leon Gollersrud; and best friends, Mike and Carol Harley. A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday at Gollersrud Beach at Pillar Rock. Memorial contributions may be made in Steve Dobbins’ name to Naselle Volunteer Fire Dept. P.O.
