Wahkiakum Co. Eagle-December 1996 DIDRICKSEN, George Edward Age 77, died at home in Cathlamet. He was born on Puget Island to John and Petra (Dennisen) Didricksen. He was raised on Puget Island and married his wife, Marie, on Jan. 02, 1944. The couple were married for 52 years. He was a commercial fisherman in Alaska and was a member of the Alaska Fisherman Assoc. He was a life member of the Sons of Norway. He helped build his local lodge, but he couldn't join until he was 16. He enjoyed cruising in his truck, fishing, hunting and golf. He is survived by his wife, Marie, at home; two sons, John A. and Joseph M., both of Cathlamet; a brother, Robert Didricksen of Olympia; and three sisters, Aasta Reuter of Seattle, Freida Morrison of Tigard, Ore, and Esther Kosokar of Lacey. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold and Rolph in 1988 and Ragnar in 1994, and a sister, Augusta Woods, in 1987. Funeral services were Monday at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Cathlamet with Deacon Lee Edtl officiating. Dowling Funeral Home was in charge.
