Wahkiakum Co. Eagle-October 2003 DeHART, Thomas Jefferson Age 67, of Skamokawa. He was born in Bryson City, N. C. He lived in Skamokawa during the 1960's and 1970's, and lived in St. Helens, Ore., from the mid-1980's until last week when he returned to Skamokawa. In 1954, he married Ruth Freeman in North Carolina. He served a brief stint in the Army and logged for Crown Zellerbach for nine years. He also worked as a diesel mechanic and truck driver. He and his wife had their own truck for three years. Survivors include his wife of Goble, Ore.; daughters, Naomi Meyer of Skamokawa and Joyce DeHart Valle-Perez of Warren, Ore.; sons, Michael of Ronan, Mont., Alex of Skamokawa and Jeffrey of Goble; brothers, Jack of N.C. and Thad; a sister, Blanche Mosteller; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. At his request, no service was held. Dowling Funeral Home was in charge.
